Community Care | Nourish Your Mental Health

Our recent Burnt Out in GLAM World: How to Build Resilience in Survival Mode webinar addressed the ongoing reality of exhaustion. For many professionals in our field, burnout has been accumulating since COVID and beyond.
Continuing to advocate for our work matters, but so does staying energized enough to do that work well.
Here are a few ways to nourish your mental health this month:
- Kick back with a lighthearted show: Chicken Nugget on Netflix is a hilarious yet heartfelt K-Drama; Shrinking on Apple TV brings back a beloved cast of deeply human characters for season 3; and The ‘Burbs on Peacock reimagines the classic ‘80s film as a campy murder mystery series.
- Take care of your whole self: A dysregulated nervous system can contribute to stress, anxiety, and depression. Make a plan to prioritize these daily essentials for physical and emotional well-being: nutritious meals, daily movement, plenty of water, and a good night’s rest.
- Cook a delicious meal at home: Cooking is a great way to get out of your head and create something with your hands. Our team pulled together a few of our favorite winter recipes below:
- Rachael: Creamy Carrot Ginger Soup
- Maia: Best Baked Potato Soup
- Erika: Baked Zucchini Fritters
